Viktorka Valachovičová is another girl from the project Helping handicapped children and women in cooperation with the ASTRA clinic 🦋.
Meet Viktorka Valachovičová 🤍
🦋 Today we will introduce Viktorka’s story, which starts even before her birth. Her brother Kristian already has PDA, which she suffers from. Therefore, mum was given pyridoxine during her pregnancy with Vika, after being diagnosed with the same condition, and due to the diagnosis and complications Kristian had after birth, she was born by planned section.
🦋 She was then immediately taken to the ICU where she was immediately given pyridoxine intravenously. The EEG and clinical presentation of Viktorka were without any suspicion of epileptic seizures.
🦋 PDE is a metabolic disease and only 8 children in the Czech Republic are affected by it. One of them is Viktorka, the other is her brother Kristián.
🦋 In PDE, the body is not able to process vitamin B6 itself, the deficiency of which leads to convulsions that affect the brain, among other things, and thus a number of associated diseases.
🦋 Viktorka is 4 years old today and although she was supposed to develop normally, even she did not go without complications. Apart from PDEs, her life is accompanied by delayed psychomotor development (not speaking), central hypotonic syndrome, anteversion syndrome (poor hip positioning, which is often resolved surgically) and myopia.
🦋 Little girl we want to provide a chance for a better life and give her, among other things. necessary therapies that are not covered by insurance (neurorehabilitation, occupational therapy, speech therapy, hippotherapy, dolphin therapy).
